Education & Background

Madeline Cassano, is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who received her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with a Minor in LGBTQ Studies from Montclair State University, and her Master of Social Work degree from Rutgers the State University of New Jersey School of Social Work. She has experience working with individuals and families, as well as experience conducting group therapy. Madeline is trained in EMDR to treat Trauma and PTSD.


Experience

Madeline has extensive experience working with adolescents, families, couples, athletes, and LGBTQ identified people and their families in multiple spaces including school settings, alternative school environments, professional spaces, and private practice. Her focus is working with parents, couples, families, adolescents, and children who present with a range of concerns including grief and loss, anxiety, depression, trauma, gender identity, emotional dysregulation, postpartum, infertility, and athletic performance.


Approach

Madeline uses an eclectic approach of treatment that includes mind, body, and spirit to identify a client’s strengths, build coping strategies, and improve wellness. She supports clients and families using evidence-based modalities that include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Strengths-Based Therapy, Structural Family Systems, Gottman Method, Mindfulness, and Narrative Therapy. She creates a warm and welcoming clinical environment in which the clients work collaboratively with her to obtain their desired goals.
