Education & Experience
Kate (she/her) brings a wealth of knowledge and empathy to her role as a Licensed Associate Counselor after over two decades as an educator. With a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology and a minor in Social Work from NYU, and Masters Degrees in both Counseling (Hunter College) and Special Education (Queens College), she seamlessly transitions from guiding students in the classroom to supporting individuals in their journey towards mental wellness. Kate also volunteers as a Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA), working with children and families navigating the foster care and family court system. Kate has experience working with children, teens, adults, and families.

Kate utilizes an eclectic, person-centered approach, creating a safe and non-judgmental space where clients can explore their thoughts, feelings, and experiences. Drawing upon evidence-based techniques such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Strength-Based Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, and her extensive background in education, she provides personalized guidance and support to individuals navigating challenges such as anxiety, depression, trauma, life transitions, and navigating relationship dynamics. In addition, Kate is deeply committed to social justice and inclusivity, integrating principles of equity and advocacy into her therapeutic practice. Kate takes great pride in empowering individuals to discover their strengths, build resilience, advocate for justice, and lead fulfilling lives.
