Education & Background
I have 24 years experience in areas of anxiety, depression, coping skills, trauma, co-parenting, life transitions, grief and loss, self-esteem/identity and peer relationships. I balance empathetic listening and validation with a gentle nudge when it is time to do the work needed to make progress. Treatment will be tailored to your needs and may include Strength-Based, Solution-Focused, Attachment Based, and Mindful Practice modalities, among others. Mindfulness is not just telling clients to “take a deep breath.” It's more about learning coping strategies and making trauma-sensitive choices.
Having worked as an Anti-Bullying Coordinator and Specialist allows me to understand the complexities of bullying and relational aggression, its impact on mental health, and to help you advocate for the supports you are entitled to.
Approach
I do not take for granted the trust that clients place in me, and I am dedicated to earning and maintaining that trust through compassionate and effective therapy in a non judgmental and empathetic way. Sometimes we take life too seriously, and others not seriously enough. We can find that balance together.
